The first was the stunning ocean view. The second was the breathtaking city view. So, for the third time, I thought we should try some spectacular mountain view.

The Restaurant at the Getty Center has one of the best views in town and the nice thing about this place is that the view is not too overwhelming. Definitely wonderful but kind of subtle. Same goes for the food. Good, not too overpowering, and kind of simple and basic. The experience can be elegant depending on the night of the week and the crowd.

This time I thought we try something different. I ordered 4 tickets to one of their "Friday Nights at the Getty" performances. So, we will meet for a dinner and a drink at The Restaurant, enjoy the view, and after the dinner we will go see Stefan Haves performing in "Master Pieces Theater" at the auditorium next door.

Dinner reservation is at 5:30 pm and the performance starts at 7:30 pm. Please be on time so that we can leave the restaurant by 7 pm and enjoy a leisurely walk to the auditorium.

Please bring cash to settle the restaurant bill, but the performance is completely FREE. Parking is $8 per car.

    So sorry to miss this Beth and Kay. But waited for waitlist but finally gave up yesterday and made other plans. Have fun and hope I can go next time. But will see you on Thursday for the Greek party. Ellen

    Unfortunately for this event, I cannot increase the number of participants. Getty only allows 4 performance tickets - well it is free. Noni and Ellen, I will change your RSVP for Greek Dinner event to YES. For this event, Ellen you are 1st on the waiting list and then Noni.

      “ My first trip to the Getty! I got there early and was able to explore the exhibits. The restaurant was nice, good food, great company! The show was hilarious....thanks Kay! ”

I was late due to traffic, and all the windows were shaded at sunset, and the waiter spilled water and broke a glass, and Sheri's credit card momentarily disappeared, and we almost did not get to see the performance... but somehow everything worked out. Food was great. The performance was interesting. The view after dark was beautiful. And, the company as usual was AWESOME. I had a wonderful time! ”
