About Social Butterflies (Women's Social Group)

(As the group name suggests, this is a group for women only)

Our Social Butterflies group is for EVERY type of social butterfly!

Whether you are just emerging from your cocoon to spread your wings in a new environment, or you have lived your whole life in the Lower Mainland and have flitted your way through every social hotspot, and are ready to revisit them all with a new crew of friends.

What we have in common is that we enjoy experiencing the wide variety of social activities offered in the beautiful corner of the world that we call home. There just are so many excuses to get out and have fun with other like-minded women in our warm and inclusive atmosphere.

Our events are planned to include neighborhoods throughout the Lower Mainland (and perhaps beyond! Whistler, anyone?). Suggestions for fun meetups in your neighborhood are warmly welcomed. If you have a few ideas, feel free to ask to be an assistant organizer, and you can plan your own butterfly outings! You can also post event ideas or questions on our message board, or contact me directly.

I recently took over as organizer of this group, and I am very grateful that our founder butterfly, Robyn, has agreed to continue as an assistant organizer, along with several other wonderful butterflies who are planning and posting events as assistant organizers. Robyn has built an excellent group, and I hope to perpetuate her success throughout 2008 and beyond.

Please note that each event I post is listed with an optional donation, which can be paid via PayPal ahead of time, or cash at any meetup. This is to help cover the fees I pay to meetup.com as the organizer, in order to keep the group in existence. Currently fees start at $19 per month, or $72 for 6 months. Please consider donating a loonie to offset this out-of-pocket expense. I am willing to cover it, but I believe this group Robyn has nurtured to fruition is worth an extra loonie every now & then. Don't you think so?
