Greetings,
As you all are aware, Joan has stepped down from her fantastic job organizing the group in order to focus more time on what sounds to be a wonderful personal life. I've stepped up to the plate to fill in her place, and will do the best I can to keep the momentum of the group going.
I'm a fairly new resident of Chicago, having moved here a year and a half ago from California, in order to be near my mother who is in the end stage of Alzheimer's. I've been pretty much on the road for work and family since moving here, but now that I'm done with the road warrior life, I'm thrilled for the prospect of meeting great women and hopefully building some great friendships.
I've organized other Meetups in the past, not to mention other social & political groups over the past many years. One thing I've learned is that these groups are only as fab as their members. I encourage all of you to shoot me a note with any thoughts or suggestions you have for enhancing the group's events. One of my first goals is to come up with a variety of types of events in the hopes we can reach the interests of as many people as possible. I would love any suggestions you all have for events!
Alright, enough from me. I greatly look forward to meeting and getting to know what I know is a dynamic and fun group of women.
