Hello Afropolitans!

Below is a little preview of the types of events we have scheduled throughout the month of April. Now in our 4th month, the African Women?s Rendezvous Meetup has almost reached its 100th member, and we are definitely forming friendships and moving forward!! We encourage all to be extremely active and involved as we grow. Don?t get left behind! Interface with each other and use the message boards frequently for updates. The March/April meetings will be held on Saturday, as they will be extremely interactive, and easier for all to attend. See below:

FEBRUARY MEETUP: February will be a month to meet our new members, mix?n mingle, and disseminate information about the various free health and business resources available to African Women in the Montgomery County area. We interfaced Montgomery County Executives on Wednesday, February 13th, and accumulated very useful information that we can benefit from. In the future, our group organizers will also interact with other counties in which our members live in. This will be a perfect opportunity to voice your needs and concerns regarding your respective communities.
· We will also like to extend a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to one of our loyal members CHARLENE CLARKE, who will be celebrating another wonderful year in less than two weeks.
· Thank you to another valuable member Victorine Clarke, for the informative real estate newsletter. There was valuable tax information for homeowners who want to maximize their income. Visit http://realtytimes.co...
· Congratulations to another wonderful member and fashion designer Lara, whose fashion line is now available at CARAMEL Boutique. Visit www.lshandi.com for more details!

MARCH: African Cooking Class (First of a Series for the creative & adventurous)
DC based Marie Joe Faye, the elegant Senegalese chef of Ellington's on Eighth, will carry us through the first of a series of African cooking classes. This fun journey will familiarize all lovers of African food with cuisine from a particular African region-Northern, Western, Eastern or Central/Southern cuisine, and make direct links between other continents and their foods. We will learn to make eye-catching hors d'oeuvres for intimate gatherings or cocktail, and savory dishes to leave lasting impressions. We will also master the seductive art of eating with your hands and the proper etiquette and technique to eating a traditional, rustic African meal. READ MORE ABOUT CHEF:
